Yep! I'm finally hosting a contest. [Edit2: Deadline extended a week and a couple days.]
How to enter:
You must pick a number between one and one hundred. You must note me with your number preference, make the note's subject contest related so I will know before opening. You will receive either a song, word, sentence, theme, etc. and you must create your own original art piece that follows the lines of what information you've been given. However, it should be relatively easy in the sense most prompts have very little criteria to go by, and you can take your term and morph it into anything you want, but it MUST somehow revolve around the original prompt given. Some are more complicated than others, like some of the songs, but I know you're capable. :]

Note: Although I am using the word prompt which relates to writing, visual art is accepted also.

Rules:
1. All submissions must be sent in by August 8, 2009 by 11:59 P.m. U.S. Eastern time. As of the first day this was posted, it provided you with thirty nine days to get the piece done, over a month. No late entries.

2. Nothing dramatically graphic, explicit, etc. In other words, if it could get you suspended or banned, don't submit it. If you are uncertain of what I will accept, contact me.

3. All types of media are accepted, writing, photography, painting, drawing, anything at all. BUT, you must create a NEW piece, it cannot be a piece you've already done. Everything will be judged equally no matter what type of work you send in.

4. You can only enter once, and only submit one entry even though different types of media are accepted. You cannot at any time change your number.

5. Be as creative as you can be, and put as much thought into it as you can! Trust me, it pays off and it will be noticeable. Entertain me. I don't want to read or examine your piece and find that I can in no way relate it to your topic, either. Keep it creative; you're a deviant, you can do it.

6. Yes, you can do boy slash, I know you were wondering, haha. Just remember to stay in the guidelines and refrain from overly explicit content.

7. At least fifteen people must enter before I will deem this contest official. Please inform your friends :]

8. I will not play favorites in the sense that I do not pick winners because they are my friends, family, or I generally like them as an artist. I will pick the winners based off who was the most creative, while following their given piece at the same time. Who kept me intrigued, even inspired? Whoever it is, will be the winners.

When your piece is complete, submit the link to me in a note titled: "Contest entry." or something like that.
[EDIT:] A Deviant was having trouble deciding what type of media to do. Well, as you know, you can only submit one entry. But what you can do is this:
What you could do, that technically wouldn't be classified as two deviations or submissons is, you know when you submit literature, you can post a preview image along with it? You could put the image you wanted to do with it. It would be ONE deviation, and it's NOT required. However, deviants who don't do this, will not be judged any differently because it isn't a a requirement.
Deviants who've already entered, yes, you are allowed to go back and do this, but you must alert me so I can re-review your piece.

Prizes! 'Cause I know you want to win something.

Unfortunately, I am a broke person, therefore I cannot provide winners with a subscription like many contest holders do, and I apologize. However, you will receive:

First place: A writing piece of your choice, you give ME the prompt, and I will write it for you. About anything you want, fan fiction, a poem, anything at all. You just have to note me with specifics. You will also receive a feature in my journal for 3 months [twelve weeks] and I will make an "I support [your username here, OR the title of your winning piece]" stamp (if you don't already have one made), and that will permanently remain in the stamp section of my journal. Your deviation that wins will also be marked as my "Deviation of the Month" Yes, month, not day. You will also be added to my watch if I am not already watching you.

Second Place: A writing piece of your choice about anything, you give me the prompt. However, it will not be quite as long as the first place winner's piece, and I will watch you if I'm not already.
OR
You can receive a semi-permanent support stamp in my journal, and a watch.

Third Place: A couple hundred word piece on anything you want, a feature in my journal for a month, and a watch.

So get to entering! MAKE SURE THE NUMBER YOU REQUEST ISN'T ALREADY TAKEN.
